Just when you thought Florida can retake the official dumbass state award, California does something to earn it back.

Off to Dublin in 30 hours, or thereabouts. Booked Frankfurt today for Feb. over President’s Weekend. Not looking forward to going to O’Hare tomorrow, because it’s asshole central because of the rookie tourists.

It’s the weekend, 6 days until Dublin, 55 days to Amsterdam.

This weekend: 36 hours, 3 different airports, 4500 something miles.

What have I learned?

1) People who wear those over-the-neck pouches that hold their boarding passes (who are not minors) are assholes.

2) Always be nice to Flight Attendants. And bring candy.

Off to San Francisco in the morning for a quick run. Back late Sunday. Will try for more bumps.

Note: Chicago has the best looking news personalities anywhere. FACT. Today’s hottie is Mary Frances Bragiel from CLTV.

My knee hurts, but my heart hurts worse. One step forward, two steps back.

Life is weird. A girl I went to high school with has died of a brain aneurysm. What’s weird is that I’m strangely unaffected. There was a girl I was good friends with in high school that was killed several years back, and I wasn’t affected at all. I don’t understand myself at times.

Bought tickets for Amsterdam in January. Trying to get Drew to come along, but that will never happen.

Bought some domain names. One is fucksocks.com. I’m passing out e-mail redirects to friends and others. If you want one, let me know.

I love you. Luckily, I’m still at the age where I can get away with schoolboy crushes.

Here’s the rundown of London:

1) Got bumped to business on the way to London by kicking an elderly couple out from sweet talking their way into an upgrade. Then caught a fluke where there was NO ONE in the standard passport control line and the priority line was crowded at arrival in Heathrow.

2) Realized that Tim O’Toole is not just a shitty bar in Chicago.

3) Went to the Grenadier Pub. Not bad overall. It’s just out of the freakin’ way and I got lost despite having two maps.

4) Went to the Krispy Kreme at Harrod’s. I figure, it’s the US payback for exposing us to the band Coldplay.

5) Got a super sweet UK mobile number that roams in the US. o2 rocks. I’m glad I got “666″ somewhere in the number. Makes me feel better.

12 days until an overnighter in San Francisco, 24 until Dublin. 36 segments, 89,600 miles year to date.
