Since no one reads this blog anyway…
You know, there was a time where I was in love with someone dearly who meant a great deal to me. And as time goes on, you make deals with yourself saying “You know, I’d sacrifice anything to be with that person again.”
Years pass, and you say to yourself that you’d be sacrifice anything just to see that person again with the understanding that it could never be that way again. And as time goes by and as we grow older, you say to yourself “I’d sacrifice anything to just talk to her again.” But my offers go unnoticed, and we continue to age.
Pretty soon you look at the face in the mirror and see the shame of the offers of sacrifice to whomever would listen. You look at your hair and eyes to see how time has grayed them both. And then there’s that one day where you say “I’d give up anything to just forget about her.”
Elephant brains and time means you get to relive your worst mistakes repeatedly. I know I need to say that I forgive myself, but I just can’t.
